For years, our family has gathered to celebrate our shared heritage. To ensure this legacy continues for generations to come, we have officially incorporated as the Purdy Ohana Foundation, a Hawaii-based nonprofit organization.
Our foundation serves as the official steward of the Ikua Purdy Ohana Reunion and is dedicated to preserving the rich history of our ancestors.
The Purdy Ohana Foundation is organized exclusively for charitable, educational, and historical purposes. Specifically, our organization is dedicated to:
Preserving and sharing the historical legacy of the Purdy Ohana and its contributions to Hawaiian heritage and culture.
Providing educational opportunities and resources to the community regarding the history of the Hawaiian paniolo and ranching traditions.
Fostering community and cultural enrichment through organized gatherings, historical research, and the preservation of genealogical records.
The Ikua Purdy Ohana Reunion: We organize our biennial educational and cultural gatherings, bringing family and community together to learn about our roots.
Genealogy & Archives: We actively research, collect, and maintain historical documents, photos, and moʻolelo (stories) related to Ikua Purdy and the broader Ohana.
Community Education: Through workshops and online resources, we share the proud legacy of the Hawaiian Paniolo with the public.
The foundation is guided by an all-volunteer Board of Directors who are passionate about our family's history:
President: Andrew Purdy
Secretary: Tanya Stone
Treasurer: Colleen Diorec
Incorporator: Andrew Purdy
As a community-focused nonprofit, we are committed to transparency. You may review our draft foundational governing documents below.
